CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Freshman Seth Towns of the Harvard men's basketball team has been named the Ivy League Co-Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Towns averaged 20.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists in a 2-0 weekend for the Crimson. The rookie surpassed the 20-point plateau in both games, shooting 60.9 percent from the field. Towns also connected on 5-of-6 from three and made 88.9 percent of his free throws.
This marks the second weekly honor for Towns and the fifth time a rookie has earned the distinction this year.
Towns shares the honor with Ryan Betley of Penn.
The Crimson opens its final home weekend of Ivy League play against Yale Friday at 7 p.m. Harvard and Brown tip Saturday at 8 p.m. on ASN.
