CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Seth Towns of the Harvard men's basketball team has been honored as the Ivy League Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
The freshman posted an impressive week as Harvard rattled off two of its three-straight wins, averaging a team-high 21.0 points, adding 5.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists. Towns shot 53.0 percent from the field (14-of-26), including 6-of-9 from three. The Columbus, Ohio product also went 8-from-10 from the charity stripe.
Against Northeastern, Towns exploded for a personal-best 24 points, adding three rebounds and two steals. The rookie posted 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting, adding four boards and two assists in the 74-66 win over Boston College.
Harvard will break for finals before heading to Houston Dec. 23. The game will be televised on ESPN2 and is set for an 8 p.m. ET start.
