Men's Basketball Releases 2014-15 Schedule; Will Host 14 Games at Lavietes Pavilion

Harvard will be in search of a fifth straight Ivy League title when the season gets underway Nov. 14 (Gil Talbot).

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard men's basketball head coach Tommy Amaker has announced the team's 2014-15 schedule which features 14 games to be played at Lavietes Pavilion and a trip down Storrow Drive to the TD Garden.

"We have put together a strong non-conference schedule that will help us prepare for the rigors of Ivy League play," Amaker commented.

Harvard, which has won four consecutive Ivy League championships and appeared in each of the last three NCAA tournaments, will begin the year by hosting six of its first eight games at Lavietes Pavilion and playing seven of its first eight in the Boston/Cambridge area. The season will officially get underway Friday, Nov. 14 as the Crimson welcomes neighboring MIT, before a showdown with Holy Cross (Nov. 16) at the TD Garden in the nightcap of the Coaches vs. Cancer Tripleheader.

Harvard will play its next four games at home with Florida Atlantic (Nov. 20), Houston (Nov. 25), UMass (Nov. 29) and Northeastern (Dec. 3) each making the trip. Following a game at Vermont (Dec.6), the Crimson will wrap up the fall semester back in the friendly confines of Lavietes against cross-town foe, Boston University (Dec. 8).

The Crimson returns to action following a two-week break for finals with a trip to Charlottesville, Virginia, to face 2014 Sweet Sixteen participant Virginia (Dec. 21). Harvard will then head west to close the year out with a pair of games at Arizona State (Dec. 28) and Grand Canyon (Dec. 30).

The Crimson will host Saint Rose (Jan. 5) before beginning Ivy League play Jan. 10 at Dartmouth, marking the 28th straight year the teams have squared off in the conference opener. Games at Boston College (Jan. 14) and Bryant (Jan. 20) will follow before the "14-Game Tournament" begins in earnest with a rematch between the Crimson and Big Green (Jan. 24).

Harvard will spend the next two weeks on the road with games at Princeton (Jan. 30), Penn (Jan. 31), Brown (Feb. 6) and Yale (Feb. 7). A four-game homestand awaits the team upon its return with Columbia (Feb. 13), Cornell (Feb. 14), Penn (Feb. 20) and Princeton (Feb. 21) each arriving in Cambridge. The Crimson will be back on the road for return dates with Cornell (Feb. 27) and Columbia (Feb. 28) before welcoming Yale (March 6) and Brown (March 7) to Lavietes for the final two games of the regular season.
