Tommy Amaker is entering his sixth season as head coach for the Harvard men's basketball team (Gil Talbot).
BOSTON – The four local men's Division I college basketball head coaches will host a panel discussion at the Coaches vs. Cancer Tip-Off Breakfast, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10 in the State Street Pavilion at Fenway Park.
Harvard's Tommy Amaker, Northeastern's Bill Coen, Boston College's Steve Donahue, Joe Jones from Boston University and ESPN college basketball analyst Seth Greenberg will join guests in an interactive forum that will offer previews of the upcoming season and touch upon other topics related to college basketball in Boston and across the nation.
Proceeds from the breakfast will benefit Coaches vs. Cancer, a nation-wide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) that empowers basketball coaches, their teams, and local communities to make a difference in the fight against cancer.
The program leverages the personal experiences, community leadership, and professional excellence of basketball coaches nation-wide to increase cancer awareness and promote healthy living through year-round awareness efforts, fundraising activities, and advocacy programs.
Tickets for the event, which include breakfast, are $75 for an individual and $700 for a table of 10, with proceeds benefitting the Coaches vs. Cancer program.
