Amaker to Host Coaches Clinic with Guest Larry Brown; Harvard Students Admitted Free with ID

Harvard head coach Tommy Amaker will host a coaches clinic with guest Larry Brown at Lavietes Pavilion Oct. 30 (Mitchell Layton).

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The fifth annual Harvard men's basketball coaches clinic will take place Sunday, Oct. 30 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Lavietes Pavilion under the direction of head coach Tommy Amaker.  

Cost for the clinic is $50 per person if you pre-register before Oct. 21 or $65 per person for registration after the deadline.  

Once again, all Harvard undergraduates, graduate students and faculty will be admitted free of charge.  In order to reserve your place, please contact Brian DeStefano at by Oct. 29.

Students and faculty are asked to bring your Harvard ID to the front entrance of Lavietes Pavilion between 10-10:45 a.m. on Oct. 30.

The morning session includes opening remarks by coach Amaker and an observation of Harvard Basketball practice followed by lunch.  Reservations are appreciated but not necessary. 
Features of the day-long clinic include an insider's view of a prototypical Harvard practice complete with drills and insight.

There will also be a guest lecture with Larry Brown, a former NBA championship head coach with the Detroit Pistons and a former NCAA championship head coach at Kansas. A Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame inductee in 2002, Brown, who won 1,098 games in the NBA, is the only coach in league history to lead eight different teams to the playoffs.  Brown will also host a question-and-answer session in the afternoon to conclude the event.

Per NCAA rules, high school players may not participate.
