Junior Maddie Earle and freshman Ellie Shahbo helped Harvard sweep games against Yale and No. 18 Maine this past weekend.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After two wins this past weekend against Yale and No. 18 Maine, Harvard field hockey also swept the Ivy League weekly awards, as junior forward Maddie Earle earned Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week, and freshman goalkeeper Ellie Shahbo earned Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week honors.

In the Crimson's Ivy opener on Friday night, Earle's second half goal helped Harvard earn a 6-0 win over the Bulldogs. On Sunday, Earle recorded a career high three goals, her first career hat trick, in Harvard's 4-1 win over the Black Bears. Earle is second on the team with six goals on the season.

Making her third and fourth career starts, Shahbo picked up two wins for Harvard, making a save in the Crimson's 6-0 win over Yale on Friday before notching four saves in Harvard's 4-1 win over No. 18 Maine on Sunday afternoon.

No. 20 Harvard (7-1, 1-0 Ivy League) has won four games in a row overall, and is off to its best eight-game start in program history. Harvard will continue Ivy League play at Penn next Saturday (Sept. 29) before returning home the next day (Sept. 30) to host Bryant at 2 p.m. Both games will air on ESPN+.
