Field Hockey Announces Six Incoming Freshmen in Class of 2022

Field hockey head coach Tjerk van Herwaarden announced the addition of six freshman to the program before the start of the 2018 season.

Fresh of setting a school record for wins in a season (13), the Harvard field hockey team has announced the addition of six newcomers in the Class of 2022. Joining the Crimson in fall will be: Kiley Allen, Elizabeth Denehy, Rachel Greenwood, Olivia Hoover, Ellie Shahbo, and Lilly Whitman.

"We are thrilled to welcome Kiley, Elizabeth, Rachel, Olivia, Ellie, and Lilly and their families to our program," said head coach Tjerk van Herwaarden. "These six very talented young women will continue to strive for excellence off and on the field when they arrive at Harvard, just as they have done so far in their lives. They will boost the quality we already have for each line on the field and I expect these six will make an impact on our program so we can continue to grow and compete for championships every year. They will bring a tremendous amount of competitive and successful high performance hockey to our team and do so while enriching our team culture with their personalities."

The group hails from New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and England. They will join a team that finished the 2017 season with a 13-4 record (6-1 Ivy League).
