Hannah Pearce Named South Africa's Top U18 Player

Freshman Hannah Pearce was named South Africa's top U18 player in December 2017.

JOHANNESBURG, S.A. --
Freshman Hannah Pearce was named the Dave Carr U18 Girls Player of the Year by the South African Hockey Association in December. The award is given to the nation's best U18 field hockey player and recognized the previous year's accomplishments by Pearce.

Hailing from Johannesburg, South Africa, Pearce came to Harvard a highly decorated player, helping St. Mary's School to the No. 2 ranking in South Africa and serving as a two-time captain of the U18 national team.

A Second Team All-Ivy selection, Pearce was a dynamic freshman addition to Harvard's lineup, starting all 17 games at back, with six goals, one assist and a defensive save. She helped Harvard to one of its finest defensive seasons in program history, as the Crimson finished seventh in the country allowing 1.22 goals per game.
