Van Vlijmen Earns All-ECAC Field Hockey First Team Honors

Sophomore Bente van Vlijmen earned All-ECAC First Team honors.

CAMBRIDGE, MASS -
 Sophomore standout Bente van Vlijmen earned All-ECAC First Team honors, the conference announced today (Nov. 30). A native of Zeist, The Netherlands, van Vlijmen had a career year, notching 24 points (11 goals, two assists) in 17 games, and leading the team with 43 shots on goal. Bente also earned First Team All-Ivy honors for the second consecutive season, and is on her way to a prolific career for the Crimson.

Harvard finished the 2017 season with a 13-4 record (6-1 Ivy League) setting a new program record for wins in a season. Head coach Tjerk van Herwaarden helped Harvard achieve its highest national ranking, as the Crimson reached No. 13 in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I Coaches Poll.
