Harvard Field Hockey Earns 2011 Gladiator by SGI / NFHCA Division I National Academic Accolades

The Harvard field hockey team was selected as one of 60 schools to be included in the 2011 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA National Academic Team Award (Harvard Athletic Communications)

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard field hockey team has been named a recipient of the 2011 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA National Academic Team Award and 11 Crimson players have been named to the Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA National Academic Squad, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced Monday.

The National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2011-12 academic year. Meanwhile the team award recognizes those institutions that achieved a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the fall 2011 semester.

Juniors Cynthia Tassopoulos, Katelin Wahl, Kim Goh earned their third straight selection to the team. Wahl has a concentration in economics while Tassopoulos  and Goh are studying history and science. Jenn Hatfield (psychology) and Rebecca Houser (government) received the honor for the second-straight year. Harvard also landed six newcomers to the list as senior Carly Dickson (history of art and architecture) and freshmen Kaitlyn Boudah, Caroline Code, Paige Hayley, Sydney Jenkins and Catriona McDonald were all selected as well.
