Harvard Field Hockey Welcomes Newcomers for 2011

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—The Harvard field hockey team will welcome seven freshmen to the team for the 2011 season, head coach Sue Caples has announced.

The standout athletes come to the Crimson from both coasts of the United States and both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. The seven rookies will contribute at the midfield and forward positions and join a group of 16 returning players from last season. Also joining the squad will be sophomore Kyleigh Keating, a member of the Harvard women's lacrosse team who will play field hockey as well this season.

Kaitlyn Boudah • Forward • Colchester, Vt./Colchester
Graduated Summa Cum Laude from Colchester High School, where she totaled 10 varsity letters in field hockey (three), tennis (four) and Nordic skiing (three), won the Senior Award in all three sports and was named top senior student-athlete … Named the Vermont Division I Player of the Year and a two-time first-team all-state and all-metro honoree … An AAU Junior Olympics selection in 2009 … Member of the 2009 National Futures Championship regional under-16 team and the '11 U19 team … Competed for Vermont in the 2011 Twin State game against New Hampshire and played in the National Hockey Festival in 2009 … Captained the Colchester field hockey and tennis teams as a senior … Played at No. 1 singles in tennis for two years … Representative at the State Athletic Leadership Conference … A National Merit Commended Scholar, AP Scholar, National Honor Society member and state recipient of the High School Scholar/Athlete Leadership Award with Honor … Earned high honors and recognition in writing, French, art and mathematics … Interests include piano, drawing and drumming in a Celtic rock band … Father, Mike, ran track at Utah.

Won three varsity letters each in field hockey and lacrosse at Severn School, garnering national all-academic honors in each sport as a senior … Earned conference all-star selection in field hockey twice …  Also as a senior, made Maryland senior all-star team and Washington Post all-league team and received field hockey Coaches Award and Class of '23 Athletic Graduation Award … Also played ice hockey, helping the Navy Under-19 girls' team win its league championship and reach the Southern District playoffs in 2010 … A two-year ice hockey captain … A member of the National Honor Society, French Honor Society and Cum Laude Society … A Maryland Distinguished Scholar … Served as senior prefect, peer counselor and volunteer at Lighthouse Shelter and Chrysallis House … Father, Ken Code '84, captained the Harvard men's ice hockey team and uncle, Murray Dea '79, also played ice hockey for the Crimson.

Paige Haley • Forward • Limerick, Pa./The Hill School
A four-year letterwinner and three-year starter in field hockey at The Hill School, where she also won three letters in track … Captained the field hockey team as a senior and helped the team win three league titles and post a 54-8-2 record over four years … Named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad … Made the all-area second team in 2010 and all-academic team in '09 and '10 … Led team in assists as a junior and ranked second in scoring as a junior and senior … Helped WC Eagles club team win three gold medals at the National Indoor Tournament and silvers at the Disney Showcase and National Hockey Festival … In track, finished fourth in the league in the 400 meters in 2011 and made the Penn Relays team in four events … Recognized for her grade's highest grade-point average in three years and her school's top GPA in 2007 … An SGA senator and part of Cum Laude Society and National Society of High School Scholars … Co-president of Big Brothers/Big Sisters club and co-founder of school's Cradles to Crayons club … Service activities included trip to Botswana and volunteer tutoring and work at a retirement home … Interests include musical theater.

Four-year starter in field hockey and three-year starter in lacrosse at Princeton Day School … Team captain, most valuable player and all-state prep selection for field hockey in 2009 and '10 … Also named first-team all-prep by the Star Ledger and Trenton Times and selected to the Central Jersey first team both seasons … A four-year Princeton Packet first-team selection … Selected to five National Futures Championships and captured the 2010 NFC silver medal … A Futures Elite selection in 2009 and '11 and Junior Olympics pick in '08 … Won National Hockey Festival gold in 2008 and '09 … A first-team all-state prep honoree in lacrosse … An NFHCA National Academic Squad member … Received 2011 PDS Scholar-Athlete Award and PDS Arts Award in ceramics … Member of Jack and Jill of America service organization … Enjoys playing classical piano and creating ceramic artwork … Mother, Lisa Gillespie Jenkins LAW '84, graduated from Harvard Law School.

Attended Ipswich School … Served as captain for Regional Performance Centre … Captained 2008, '09 and '10 Suffolk County teams … Reached six national finals and eight regional finals … Won the 2010 East of England Premiership with club team … Selected to Saxon Tigers English Regional Team in 2009 and '10 as part of High Performance Assessment Camps and Futures Cup program … Earned academic and sports scholarships … Studied economics, history and mathematics for A Level … Interests include economics, international development and making jewelry.

Noel Painter • Forward • Los Gatos, Calif./Los Gatos
A four-year starter in field hockey and three-year starter in lacrosse at Los Gatos High School … Captained both teams as a junior and senior … A first-team all-league and all-division pick in final two field hockey seasons, earning selection as her grade's Athlete of the Year both years … Selected as The Mercury News Player of the Year Mt. Hamilton Division Most Valuable Player in 2009 and named Senior of the Year in 2010 … Led team to three straight league titles … Set school records of 34 goals in a season, breaking own record of 23, and 77 in her career … Made National Futures Championship teams in 2010 and '11 … School's Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year … A three-time, first-team all-league honoree in lacrosse ... Attended Millfield School and played field hockey for the Bowdon Hockey Club and various national, regional and county teams … Member of the England Under-16 squad during the 2008-09 season, making her international debut against Ireland in Dublin in June 2009 … Won English indoor hockey title and English outdoor cup as part of the Bowdon ladies senior team in 2010-11 … Captained the Greater Manchester County U18 Team in 2010, the Bowdon U18 squad in '08 and Altrincham Grammar School for Girls teams in '05 and '08 … Named Altrincham's Field Hockey Player of the Year in 2008 and its most promising athlete in any sport in '06 … Helped teams win county national championship in 2010 and both outdoor and indoor school girls national championships in '10 and '11 … Father, Craig, played in Irish senior field hockey league in the 1980s, and both father and mother, Michele, played in Irish Schools finals … Brothers, Simon and Christopher, have played at high levels, and Christopher is currently a member of the England U21 men's squad.
