BOSTON -- At the annual football awards banquet hosted by the Harvard Club of Boston, Brogan McPartland was chosen as the winner of the Frederick Greeley Crocker Award as the most valuable player of the 2019 Harvard football team, as chosen by his teammates.
Rising senior Jordan Hill was elected as the 147th captain of Harvard football for the 2020 season, as announced by Tim Murphy, The Thomas Stephenson Family Head Coach of Harvard Football. Also at the banquet, the other recipients of the 2019 team awards were announced.
Outgoing senior linebacker Joey Goodman and senior placekicker Jake McIntyre were presented with the Joseph Restic Award for leadership, scholarship, and integrity.
Senior linebacker Matt Farber was presented with the Henry H. Lamar Award for dedication. Senior linebacker Cameron Kline and senior John Stivers received the Robert F. Kennedy Award for desire and determination; senior offensive lineman Liam Shanahan took home the Joseph E. Wolf Award as the team's outstanding interior linemen; and senior defensive backs Wesley Ogsbury and Cole Thompson garnered the William Paine LaCroix Trophy for enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and loyalty.
Bob Scalise, The John D. Nichols '53 Family Director of Athletics received the President's Special Award. Scalise will be retiring in June 2020 after serving as Harvard's Athletic Director for the past 19 years.
