Shampklin totaled career-bests in rushing yards and touchdowns (Gil Talbot).
PRINCETON, N.J. – Earning praise after a breakout performance against San Diego, sophomore running back Aaron Shampklin has been selected as the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week.
Shampklin scored four touchdowns and rushed for 178 yards, a career high and the most by a Crimson player since Charlie Booker III last season. Shampklin's scoring success also marks the first time a running back has scored four touchdowns for the Crimson in a game since Oct. 4, 2014. Shampklin's first three touches were for scores of 64, 22 and 23 yards, respectively, in the first quarter. He also added a 13-yard score in the fourth period.
Harvard posted its 15th win in a season opener in the last 18 seasons, as the Crimson earned a 36-14 victory. The team hits the road for the first time this Friday at Brown, with kickoff slated for 7 p.m. on ESPNU.
