CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Junior place kicker Jake McIntyre has been added to the Fred Mitchell Award watch list for the second-consecutive season, as announced by the organization on Monday. The recipient of the Fred Mitchell Award will be chosen based on excellence on the football field and in the community.
McIntyre is one of 34 kickers on the watch list, including 12 other players from the FCS ranks. The Orlando, Florida native went 9-for-11 a year ago, and is 17-for-21 over his first two years, including a career long of 39 yards at Georgetown on Sept. 30, 2017. Additionally, McIntyre has connected on 92 percent of his extra points.
The kicker was one of the 13 finalists for the award a year ago, and is an active participant in a number of community service endeavors. The finalists and eventual winner of the award will be revealed in December.
