  • McIntyre Named Ivy League Special Teams Player of the Week

    Three days removed from kicking the game-winning field goal as time expired against Holy Cross, junior Jake McIntyre has been selected as the Ivy League Special Teams Player of the Week.
  • Five Inducted into Harvard Varsity Club Hall of Fame

    The Harvard Varsity Club welcomed five members to its Hall of Fame as the Class of 2018 during a dinner and induction ceremony at the Harvard Club of Boston's Downtown Clubhouse on Saturday, October 13. Jennifer Botterill ’02-'03 (women's hockey), Dominic Moore ’03 (men's hockey), Carl E. Morris ’03 (football), Daniel J. Shevchik ’03 (men's swimming & diving), and Tiffany Whitton Gould ’03 (softball) joined the nearly 550 student-athletes from Harvard’s 42 varsity teams who have previously been inducted into the Hall of Fame.
  • Harvard Football Program Feature Story: Charlie Booker

    For Harvard senior running back Charlie Booker, size has never been a deterrent for him in his football career.  The 5-foot-9, 200-pound economics major from Houston, Texas earned himself a spot on the 2017 All-Ivy League first team after rushing for 733 yards with six touchdowns. Football wasn’t the first sport that Booker ventured into though.
  • Football Wins Late-Game Thriller with Holy Cross, 33-31

    In a late-game thriller capped by a field goal from junior Jake McIntyre as time expired, Harvard bounced back to beat the Holy Cross Crusaders, 33-31, at Harvard Stadium on Friday night.
  • New England Football Writers Luncheons Ending at End of Season

    After much discussion among the NEFW executive committee, we have come to the difficult decision that 2018 will be the last year of the weekly NEFW luncheons. While the luncheons will continue through the end of this season, the declining attendance by both schools and media, and the expenses the NEFW incurs for the luncheons make it impossible for us to justify continuing in future seasons. We are very aware of the tradition we're sacrificing. This is not a decision to which we came lightly.
  • Football Set to Host Holy Cross Friday Evening

    Harvard football will conclude the non-conference portion of its schedule when the Crimson hosts Holy Cross at Harvard Stadium Friday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. The game will be shown live on ESPN+ and will be carried over the radio on Bloomberg WRCA (1330 AM/106.1 FM).
  • Shampklin Rushes for Career-High in 28-24 Setback At Cornell

    Aaron Shampklin rushed for a career-high 191 yards on 27 carries, but the Harvard football team fell by a score of 28-24 against Ivy League rival Cornell at Schoellkopf Field Saturday afternoon. With the defeat, the Crimson drops to 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the Ivy, while the Big Red improves to 2-2 and 1-1.

    When football fans think of the name Larry Allen, they certainly think of the Super Bowl Champion with the Dallas Cowboys, the 11-time Pro Bowler, and the 2013 inductee into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Larry Allen, Sr.  His son, Larry Jr., is making quite the name for himself as well as an offensive lineman in Cambridge.

    A second half fell short, as Harvard football suffered its first loss of the season, falling 23-16 against the No. 20/22 Rhode Island Rams at Harvard Stadium.

    Harvard football will step back into non-conference play as the Crimson hosts No. 20/22 Rhode Island Friday, Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. The game will be shown live on ESPN+ and will be carried over the radio on Bloomberg WRCA (1330 AM/106.1 FM). This is Harvard’s second-straight Friday night game and the second of three this season.
  • Harvard Football Cruises Over Brown, 31-17, Improves to 2-0 on the Year

    The Harvard football team jumped out to a 24-3 lead over Brown and did not look back, emerging with a 31-17 victory over the Bears at Brown Stadium Friday night in a game shown live nationally on ESPNU.

  • Nine Crimson Alumni Make NFL Rosters

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—With the NFL season slated to kick off this week, nine Harvard football alumni will be suiting up after making the final 53-man rosters for eight NFL teams. With nine players making the final cut, the Crimson sit on top of the FCS in players in the NFL, leading the pack with three more than second-placed Delaware, Illinois State, James Madison, and North Dakota State.

    In the spring, the Ivy League and ESPN agreed to a long-term relationship to showcase Ivy League events through a variety of ESPN platforms. This includes coverage for all 42 Harvard varsity programs on ESPN linear networks and ESPN+. 
  • McIntyre Named to Fred Mitchell Award Kick-Off Watch List

    Junior place kicker Jake McIntyre has been added to the Fred Mitchell Award watch list for the second-consecutive season, as announced by the organization on Monday. The recipient of the Fred Mitchell Award will be chosen based on excellence on the football field and in the community.
  • Harvard Stadium Information for 2018
    August 21, 2018
    Last fall, visitors to Harvard Stadium were informed of a limited number of localized work zones demarcating exploratory construction activity. The Faculty of Arts and Sciences and Department of Athletics initiated engineering studies to better understand existing concrete conditions throughout the building. Exploratory activity continued through the fall with minimal impact to game-day operations or the fan experience.

    Harvard Athletics and NESN have announced an extended agreement that will see three home events broadcast on the network this fall. The package opens with women’s soccer hosting Maine Sept. 5, continues when men’s soccer welcomes UMass Lowell the following day, and concludes with football’s bout against Columbia Nov. 3.
  • Shelton-Mosley, Allen Named to Phil Steele Preseason FCS All-America Teams

    Harvard football landed two players on Phil Steele Preseason FCS All-America teams, returner/wide receiver Justice Shelton-Mosley and offensive lineman Larry Allen, as released Friday. The Crimson seniors are two of only five honorees from the Ivy League.
