Harvard to Host Weekly New England Football Writers Luncheons

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Harvard University will once again serve as the host of the weekly New England Football Writers luncheons, which will be held at the Dillon Field House each Wednesday, beginning Sept. 7 and ending Nov. 16.

The luncheons, sponsored by the National Football Foundation, provide an excellent opportunity for the media to join coaches, sports information directors and selected players from New England's Division I FBS, FCS, II and III football-playing schools.

Harvard will be filming the weekly event. Participating schools will also be provided with a clip of its coach/administrator following the luncheon in order to provide additional content on their websites.

Each luncheon, a representative from each school is invited to provide an overview of the football team, recap the previous week's game, preview the upcoming game, and provide information about key contributors and notable performances.

All media, as well as athletic and administrative representatives from New England football-playing schools, are invited to attend. Media members may conduct one-on-one interviews at the conclusion of the luncheon.

Media guides, game notes, press releases and updated statistics from the individual schools and their playing leagues are available each week, and the weekly Gold Helmet Awards are presented at the luncheons for Division I FBS/FCS and Divisions II/III.

Luncheons begin promptly at 11:45 a.m. each week at the Dillon Field house, which is located behind Harvard Stadium in the Soldiers Field athletic complex.

Visitor parking is available in the lot just beyond the baseball field, along the outfield fence. The cost of the luncheons is $20 per person. Reservations are not necessary.

Please call Tim Williamson or Allison Fossner in the Athletic Communications office (617-495-2206) if you have any questions concerning the luncheons or need directions to Harvard's athletic facilities.
