CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After leading the No. 25 Harvard football team to a 41-10 season-opening victory at Rhode Island Sept. 19, senior quarterback Scott Hosch has been named the College Sports Madness Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week, it was announced Sunday.
Hosch, who hails from Sugar Hill, Georgia, set career-highs with 336 passing yards and three touchdowns in the win over the Rams. Hosch had TD passes of 45 (Ryan Halvorson), 21 (Seitu Smith II) and 19 yards (Ben Braunecker) and was 18-of-27 on the day. He had a long pass of 60 yards to tight end Anthony Firkser and improved to 7-0 as a starter for his career.
Harvard has now won 15-straight games, the longest active streak in the FCS and the second in Division I behind Ohio State (16).
Hosch and the Crimson will open Ivy league play at home against Brown under the lights of Harvard Stadium Saturday, Sept. 26. The game, which is slated for a 7 p.m. start, will be shown live nationally on FOX College Sports.
