CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Rising senior offensive lineman Cole Toner has been named to the STATS FCS Preseason All-America team, it was announced Thursday.
Toner, who is one of three Ivy Leaguers to appear on the team, was an All-Ivy League first-team selection last season. A native of Greenwood, Indiana, Toner started all 10 games and helped Harvard rank among the nation's best in several statistical categories, including 14th in rushing offense (230.5 yards per game) and 18th in completion percentage (.643).
The Crimson posted its 17th perfect season in 2014, going 10-0 overall and 7-0 in conference play to capture its 16th Ivy League title, including its eighth under Murphy. The Crimson also defeated Yale for a program-record eighth-straight time.
Harvard will open the 2015 campaign at Rhode Island Saturday, Sept. 19.
