Harvard-Yale Rivalry Highlights Ivy League-VERSUS Television Deal

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Ivy League Office has announced a five-game 2011 season television schedule with VERSUS TV, culminating with the Harvard-Yale game – one of the most storied rivalries in sports.

The five-game slate will mark the fourth consecutive year Ivy League football will air on VERSUS as the network has televised 12 Ivy matchups over the last three seasons.

The 128th edition of “The Game”, Harvard at Yale, on Saturday, November 19, at Noon is again the highlight of the package. Tim Murphy's Crimson will also be televised the previous weekend, November 12, when the team hosts Penn at Harvard Stadium.

The 2011 Ivy League football schedule on VERSUS opens Saturday, Sept. 24, with Yale hosting Cornell in a Noon kickoff from the Yale Bowl. Two-time defending champion Penn makes its first of three-straight appearances, beginning on Saturday, Oct. 15, on the road at Columbia for the Lions' homecoming in the only 3:30 p.m. start on the slate.

"We are very appreciative of the relationship and support VERSUS has shown for the Ivy League and Ivy League football," said Ivy League Executive Director Robin Harris. "Our League and our member institutions are fortunate to have a broadcast partner in VERSUS to showcase Ivy League football nationally to our passionate alumni and fans."
