Suddleson, McColl Named to 2019 Northeast-ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Team

GREENSBORO, NC – Junior Jake Suddleson and senior Patrick McColl were both named to The American Baseball Coaches Association and Rawlings All-Region teams, as announced by the ABCA NCAA Div. I All-America committee on Wednesday.

Junior Jake Suddleson ended the season with a .416 batting average against conference opponents, which won him Ivy League Player of the Year award. Suddleson is the last Harvard player to win the award since Andrew Huling in 1999 season. Against conference opponents, Suddleson leads the way with 37 hits, eight home runs, 36 RBIs and a .758 on base percentage. The clean-up hitter finished the regular season with 53 RBIs, breaking a program record for single-season RBIs set by Andrew Huling, which he established during his player-of-the-year campaign in 1999.

McColl adds to an already impressive resume of awards from his senior season, including NCBWA District One Player of the Year and NEIBA Division I All-New England Player of the Year. In his final campaign, the big lefty was a vital part of this season's Ivy League champion squad. The senior finished the season with a team-leading .387 batting average, hitting 12 home runs and 47 RBIs. McColl also led the team 70 hits, which is a program record. Most notably, he hit a walk-off grand slam in the ninth inning against Yale, completing a nine-run comeback for the team. The senior has signed a contract with the Oakland Athletics, after being drafted in the 10th round of the 2019 Major League Baseball draft.

ABCA/Rawlings All-Region First Team selections are nominated for ABCA/Rawlings All-America honors. The ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. I All-Americans will be announced on Saturday, June 15.
