Baseball’s Patrick McColl Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

GREENWOOD, Ind.– Performing on the field and in the classroom, senior Patrick McColl of the Harvard baseball team has earned Google Cloud CoSIDA Academic All-District recognition. Academic All-District awards are nominated and voted upon exclusively by members of CoSIDA, and athletes must maintain a GPA of 3.30 or higher to be nominated. McColl was one of 12 players recognized in District I, comprised of New England and New York programs.

In his final campaign, McColl has been a vital part of this season's Ivy League champion squad. The senior finished the regular season with a team-leading .403 batting average, hitting 11 home runs and 40 RBIs. McColl also leads the team with 64 hits and 15 doubles, as well as a .742 slugging percentage. Most notably, he hit a walk-off grand slam in the ninth inning against Yale, completing a nine-run comeback for the team.

The Crimson looks to extend its season in the Ivy League Playoff Series, taking on Columbia in a three-game set, beginning on May 18 at O'Donnell Field. The winner earns an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
