Baseball Earns ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award for Second-Straight Year

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Harvard baseball team has been named a Team Academic Excellence Award recipient by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), as announced by the organization Thursday. They are joined by Penn as one of the two Ivy League representatives.

This year marks the third year that the ABCA has given out the award and the second the Crimson has won. School's that earn the award maintain a GPA over 3.0 on a 4.0 scale through the academic year.  

School's from NCAA Division I, Division II, and Division III were all recognized this year, including the addition of high school and junior colleges. In total, 292 college and high school programs received the award, increasing from 226 teams last year.

On the field, the baseball team finished the season with 22 wins, the most since 2005. They finished third in the Ivy League.
