PRINCETON, N.J. – Junior right-handed pitcher Simon Rosenblum-Larson and freshman infielder Buddy Mrowka have been named Ivy League Pitcher and Rookie of the Week respectively, as announced by the conference today. This is the first career honor for both Rosenblum-Larson and Mrowka, and Harvard's third and fourth this season. The Crimson has now garnered recognition in three of four Ivy weekly honor releases.
Simon Rosenblum-Larson pitched all seven innings and earned his first win of the season in Harvard's 6-2 victory at Furman on March 16. The Madison, Wis. native fanned a career high 11 batters, while only allowing three hits and one walk over 26 batters. Rosenblum-Larson continues to pitch at a 12.12 K/9 clip, with 26 innings and 35 strikeouts under his belt during the 2018 season.
Buddy Mrowka made an appearance in four of six games this past week, ranking second on the team with a .375 batting average and .750 slugging percentage. Mrowka went three-for-eight at the plate, totaling three RBI including his first career home run. The Duxbury, Mass. native now ranks third on the roster with a .308 season batting average and leads the team with a .538 slugging percentage.
Harvard returns to the diamond this weekend, March 24-25, to open Ivy League action at Princeton. Games are set for a doubleheader beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday and a single game at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
