CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – It was all Crimson at Soldiers Field this afternoon, as Harvard softball started its Ivy League series against Penn with a pair of decisive wins.
The series opener saw Harvard cruise to an 8-0 victory in five innings against the Quakers, marking the Crimson's first run-rule victory on home turf this season. Senior pitcher

Audrey Szollosi drove in a game-high three runs on two hits.
It was more of the same for the Crimson in the second contest of the twinbill, as Harvard secured the series win with an 11-6 victory. The Crimson's seven-run display in the fourth inning highlight the win, as junior infielder

Hannah Ziecik all drove in two runs.
HOW IT HAPPENED IN GAME ONE
The series between Harvard (18-16-1, 10-4 Ivy League) and Penn (15-21, 6-8) started with a bang, as Sun propelled the Crimson into the lead with a two-run home run to deep left field, 2-0. A native of Austin, Texas, Sun leads all Crimson with eight home runs and 39 RBIs this season.
A trio of runs arrived for Harvard in the fourth inning. Back-to-back singles from Ziecik and junior pitcher
Nicolette Hunter led off the frame, as Szollosi converted on the scoring opportunity with an RBI-single, 3-0. With two outs, Payne split the gap between first and second base, sending home two runners with an RBI-single, 5-0.

Sheila Forbes ended the 8-0 win with an RBI single.
Harvard recorded eight runs on 10 hits in the series opener against the Quakers, as Szollosi led all student-athletes with three RBIs. Flynn went the distance in the circle, pitching her fourth complete game of the year with six strikeouts while only allowing two hits.
HOW IT HAPPENED IN GAME TWO
Penn struck first in the second game of the doubleheader at Soldiers Field, taking a 1-0 lead heading into the bottom of the second. Harvard responded, scoring two runs on a bases loaded walk from Szollosi and a wild pitch, 2-1.
The Crimson doubled the lead in the third inning, as sophomore catcher
Quinn Salazar-Stewart drove in a run with an RBI single down the left field line, 3-1. Penn pulled a run back in the top of the fourth, 3-2, as the Crimson bats exploded for seven runs in the home half of the fourth to take a 10-2 advantage.
All seven of the Crimson's runs in the bottom of the fourth were scored with two outs. A fielder's choice allowed the first run to score, 4-2, as Muller sent home two runners with an RBI single, 6-2. A shallow hit to right field from Ziecik scored the next two runs, 8-2, as back-to-back hits from Hunter and senior outfielder
Lael Ayala scored the final two runs of the inning for Harvard, 10-2.
Penn made it a 10-5 ballgame with a three-run home run in the top of the fifth inning, 10-5, as a sacrifice fly from Sun scored Harvard's last run of the 11-6 victory.
The Crimson scored its 11 runs on nine hits, as three different Crimson drove in multiple runs in the final contest of today's twinbill. A native of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Muller logged three hits in the contest, marking her 10
th multi-hit effort of the season.
HARVARD HIGHLIGHTS
- Harvard is now 7-1 in its last eight games in Ivy League play.
- In the today's doubleheader against Penn, Harvard posted a .500 batting average and drove in 16 runs with two outs.
- Muller records her 10th multi-hit performance this season in the second game of today's doubleheader.
