PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Harvard men's lacrosse traveled down to the city of brotherly love this weekend for its Fall scrimmages against Maryland and Lehigh. The Crimson made great use of their time in the city, playing in two competitive scrimmages before networking with its Pennsylvania based alumni and enjoying some classic Philly Cheese Steaks in Center City.
The Crimson kicked off the weekend with a team dinner in New York before getting back on the road for Philadelphia.
HLX continued its Fall preparations with two scrimmages against Maryland and Lehigh on Saturday afternoon. The Crimson played in two competitive games at Springfield Delco High School against the Terps and the Mountain Hawks before attending a tailgate after the games finished up.
The team finished the day with a sightseeing tour and dinner in Philadelphia. After checking out Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, the group made its way over to Center City for some cheese steaks.
The next morning the Crimson got the chance to meet with its Pennsylvania based alumni during a career networking breakfast.
Harvard lacrosse has already begun preparing for its next Fall events that will take place this weekend. This Friday the Crimson will compete in the third annual Burrito Bowl at 6 PM. Seniors will pick teams to then compete in a high energy, exciting scrimmage at Jordan Field with the winning team receiving its choice of burritos.
The next day, the Crimson will head out to Dorchester to support Harlem Lacrosse at its annual Chumash Tournament. This event brings together local youth players from various suburban communities and the Harlem Middle School Student-Athletes for a day of lacrosse, competition and community building.
