Craig Fafara, who joined the Harvard sports medicine staff at the outset of the 2010-11 academic year, works with the Crimson men's basketball, women's swimming and diving and men's tennis teams.
Fafara came to Harvard following two years as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Louisiana State. He spent his second year working with LSU football team, supervising 10 undergraduate students and overseeing inventory and upkeep at the LSU Football Operations Center athletic training room. He also coordinated and documented doctor visits for more than 120 football players.
Before working with football, Fafara was the sole certified athletic trainer working for approximately 50 athletes on the men's and women's swimming and diving teams. He was also an approved clinical instructor at LSU and earned a master's degree in kinesiology-sports management in May 2010.
Fafara graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology-athletic training. He was an athletic training teaching assistant from 2006-08 and worked as a summer intern with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2007.
