Dr. Meagan M. Wasfy received her undergraduate degree from Harvard College and her medical degree from Harvard Medical School. She trained in internal medicine and cardiology at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. After her general training, she spent two years spent specializing in sports cardiology and cardiac imaging through fellowships at the MGH. As a staff cardiologist at the MGH, Dr. Wasfy practices in the Cardiovascular Performance Program, which is a unique program founded in 2008 to provide cardiovascular care for competitive athletes and active patients. Dr. Wasfy is also active in research, with a focus on the use of cardiac imaging to characterize exercise-induced cardiac remodeling. She has applied this focus to the specific question of how to better distinguish between cardiac enlargement due to exercise versus that due to cardiac disease.
