Crimson Mind and Body Performance Program

  • The following program was developed in a collaborative effort between Harvard University Counseling and Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and Harvard Athletics to develop programming for student-athletes to assist them with their physical, emotional and intellectual growth.
    • Student-Athlete discussion workshops
      • Led by CAMHS counselors who have a working agreement with Harvard Athletics
      • Every 3-4 weeks throughout the academic year
      • Each 45 minute session has a specific topic that is pre-determined by CAMHS counselors and Harvard Sports Medicine
        • Feedback from student-athletes will help determine future programming
        • Examples of topics may include but not limited to:
          • Mindfulness, Confidence, Injury and Identity, Stress and Time Management etc.
  • Let’s Talk
    • A university-wide program that provides easy access to informal confidential conversations with CAMHS clinicians
    • Walk-in sites around campus, Monday-Friday
      • Specific athletic location every Tuesday
        • Blodgett Pool, 5:15-7:00 pm
          • Recreation Coordinator's Office
      • No appointment necessary
      • No fee
    • This service is geared to the following:
      • Students who are not interested in ongoing counseling but would like the perspective of a clinician
      • Students who are not sure about counseling and wonder what it’s like to talk with a clinician
      • Students who have a concern about a friend and are looking for advice about what to do
      • Students who have a specific question about resources on campus
  • iHope Workshops
    • A university wide program that encompasses video conferencing workshops that combines group meetings and support with exercises designed to help students emotional health and focus on areas that are important to them
      • Partnership between CAMHS and iHope Network
      • Workshops offered by iHope Network
        • Free to all students
        • Examples of topics include:
          • Adjusting to Life at Harvard, Overcoming Perfectionism, Calming the Worried Mind
  • Coaches Workshops
    • Programming developed between Harvard Athletics and CAMHS to provide education for coaches
      • Sessions through the academic year
        • Frequency and topics determined between Harvard Sports Medicine and CAMHS
          • Feedback from coaches will be influential in decision making
