Men's Rugby Club Takes Home Freedom Cup at Collegiate Rugby Championship

PHILADELPHIA - Competing at the Penn Mutual Collegiate Rugby Championship in June, the Harvard men's rugby club captured the Freedom Cup for the first time in program history with a 26-12 win over Rowan in the final. With the tournament victory, the Crimson qualifies for the CRC Championship top division in 2020.

After a 2-1 record in pool play, Harvard avenged an earlier defeat to West Chester with a 21-12 triump in the semifinals to advance to the deciding bout with Rowan. The Crimson jumped out to an early lead with three first half tries, with Ryan Santos notching the final score of the game to push the advantage out of reach.
