Two Honored as CoSIDA Academic All-Americas

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Rising senior Eli Dershwitz of men's fencing and graduated senior Marko Kostich of men's volleyball were named to the 2018 CoSIDA Academic All-America At-Large men's team, as announced by the organization this afternoon (June 14).

To be nominated for CoSIDA Academic All-America, a student-athlete must be a starter or key reserve with legitimate athletic credentials, have reached their sophomore year and have at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA.

Dershwitz, a two-time captain and three-time All-Ivy first team honoree, clinched his second straight NCAA Championship title in sabre this season and led the men's fencing to its 10th Ivy League Championship title. Kostich, a three-time EIVA All-Academic team honoree, led the men's volleyball team to its first EIVA Championship title and bid to the NCAA Tournament in program history. A native of Burr Ridge, Ill., Kositch etched his name in the Harvard record books as a standout setter.

Tabbed to the EIVA All-Academic team … Received All-EIVA first team honors … Named to the EIVA All-Tournament team … Recorded three double-doubles this season and surpassed five career-highs … Consistently led the team all season in assists per set (5.23) and service aces set (0.34) … Has started in each of the team's 27 matches this season … Currently ranked fifth in program history in career assists at 2,251 … Ranked seventh in program history in assists per season at 837 … Named to the All-EIVA second team and EIVA All-Academic Team both his sophomore and junior years.
