Nolan Hellickson of the wrestling team is this week's COOP Student Athlete of the Week. He wrestled at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational and recorded Harvard’s first win this season over a nationally ranked wrestler at 125 pounds. The senior won by decision, 4-3, over FloWrestling’s 19-ranked wrestler, Jacob Schwarm, of Northern Iowa in the round of 32 and won by fall for the first time this season when he pinned Ohio State’s Brakan Mead (3:45). It was Harvard’s third fall of the campaign. He finished the invitational with a 2-1 record, with the only blemish coming against No. 13/15 (FloWrestling/InterMat) Devin Schroder of Purdue (Dec. 2-0) in the round of 16.
Wrestling returns to action on Dec. 29, traveling to Ken Kraft Midlands Championships in Hoffman Estates, Ill. The team's next home game will be a doubleheader against Franklin & Marshall and Bucknell.
