Cross-Country Earns Split Against BC in Tune Up at Chestnut Hill Reservoir

Senior Louis Colson earned his first cross-country victory at the BC Dual this afternoon. 

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. –
Harvard cross-country kicked off the 2017 season with a 3K race against Boston College at the Chestnut Hill Reservoir. The men's team earned a 24-31 win over the Eagles, while the women's team fell, 15-50. The meet is outside of the NCAA qualifying window and therefore does not affect either teams' standing for the season.

On the men's side, Louis Colson and Collin Price took first and second place with matching 15:54.5 times.

Harvard Highlights:

  • Senior Louis Colson earned his first career win in cross-country while Price also recorded his best collegiate finish.
  • On the women's side, Elianna Shwayder, Abbe Goldstein, Gillian Meeks, Tessa Medrano, Fiona Davis and Anna Juul competed for the Crimson, finishing in 11:16. Ashbrook Gwinn was BC's top finisher in 10:23.

Game Notes:

  • The Harvard women's team begins the season ranked No. 25 in the USTFCCCA National Coaches' Poll, and No. 2 in the USTFCCCA Northeast Regional Rankings.
