Cross Country Heads to 40th Annual Paul Short Run

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Harvard cross country heads to Lehigh University and Goodman Campus Course this Saturday, Oct. 5 for the 40th annual Paul Short Run, one of the nation's largest cross country meets. The men, racing an 8K, will start at 11 a.m., while the women are set to begin their 6K run at 11:45 a.m.

The women were last in action at the Virginia-Panorama Farms Cross Country Invitational, where junior Viviana Hanley placed 13th overall with a time of 17:25.3 (5K). The men last defeated Yale, 15-42, on Sept. 14, as senior James Leakos distanced himself early en route to victory (23:32).

Last season, battling muddy course conditions, both the men and women posted a pair of 13th-place finishes. The men placed a pair of runners in the top 50, despite holding their top seven runners out of the competition. The women put a trio of runners in the top 70, fronted by Morgan Kelly (21:00).

After this weekend, Harvard will be back in action on Oct. 19 at Princeton.
