Cambridge, Mass. – The Harvard women's cross country team ranks fourth in the northeast region, while the men's squad sits sixth in the northeast according to the USTFCCCA Regional Cross Country Preseason Rankings, the organization announced.
Both Harvard squads are receiving votes in the national coaches' poll. The women earned 11 points, while the men garnered three.
The women's team, which qualified for the NCAA Championships for the first time since 1983 last season, earned an at-large bid after a stellar performance at the Northeast Regionals.
On the men's side, seniors Maksim Korolev and James Leakos return after placing second and fifth, respectively, at regionals last season.
