Sophomore Yoshi Andersen has been honored as an All-American, the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches announced. The Crimson attacker becomes just the fourth player at Harvard to earn All-America status.

The Harvard women’s water polo team is set to welcome in five newcomers to the class of 2018, the Friends of Harvard Water Polo Head Coach Ted Minnis announced today. The Crimson will add Haley Bowe, Cleo Harrington, Hollis Jomo, Maddy Stern and Sami Strutner for the 2015 season.

The seventh-seeded Harvard women’s water polo team dropped a heartbreaker to sixth-seed Bucknell on Saturday in the CWPA Championship, 12-11. The Bison scored the game-winning goal with just three seconds left on the clock to advance past the Crimson in a thrilling contest.

Balding Named CWPA Rookie of the Year; Andersen, Price Garner All-Conference Honors
Freshman Melissa Balding headlined a trio of Harvard women’s water polo players that were recognized with postseason awards by the Collegiate Water Polo Association, the conference announced Thursday. Balding was named the CWPA Southern Division Rookie of the Year, while sophomore Yoshi Andersen garnered first-team honors and senior Shayna Price took home second-team accolades.

Harvard enters the weekend as the No. 4 seed and will face George Washington at 2:30 p.m. in its first game before taking on defending Southern Division champion Princeton at 6 p.m. on Saturday.

Andersen Earns Second CWPA Weekly Award; Dukes Named Defensive Player of the Week
Junior Ariel Dukes and sophomore Yoshi Andersen have both earned weekly awards from the Collegiate Water Polo Association, the league announced. Dukes was honored as the Southern Division Defensive Player of the Week, while Andersen took home Southern Division Player of the Week honors. It is the first weekly award for Dukes and the second honor for Andersen.

The Harvard women's water polo team makes its annual trip to the west coast for 10 games in eight days over spring break. The Crimson will first face Cal Lutheran, No. 19 San Diego State, No. 13 UC San Diego and No. 10 San Jose State at the Aztec Invite hosted by San Diego State University. Harvard will then visit Whittier, Pomona, Cal Lutheran, No. 7 Cal State Northridge, No. 2 UCLA and No. 16 Santa Barbara during the trip.

Freshman Melissa Balding of the Harvard women’s water polo team secured Southern Division Rookie of the Week, the Collegiate Water Polo Association announced Wednesday.
