Andersen will represent Team USA at the Pan American Championships (Gil Talbot).
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Incoming freshman Yoshi Andersen has been named to the USA Water Polo Junior National Team and will compete for Team USA at the 2012 UANA Pan American Championships in Montreal, Quebec. The tournament is scheduled to run August 10-18.
"We are all very proud and excited for Yoshi," head coach Ted Minnis commented. "She has worked very hard over the years both in the pool and in the classroom. This is a great honor and reward for all of that hard work."
Andersen led Laguna Beach High School to four straight league championships and the 2009 CIF Division 2 championship. She was a three-time all-league and all-CIF selection, and was voted league MVP as a senior after leading her team in goals (106), assists (45) and steals (53). Anderson was also a member of the Junior and Youth National Teams that placed second at the Junior Pan-American Games in 2008-09 and 2010-12, while her club team won titles at the California Cup 16U in 2010 and the Junior Olympics 18U in 2011.
