Women’s Water Polo Extends Win Streak to Four

PRINCETON, N.J. – A pair of victories over opponents from the MAAC conference pushed the Harvard women's water polo team's winning streak to four games, as the Crimson downed Wagner, 16-13, and Villanova, 15-1, Saturday. The matchups were part of the MAAC/East Challenge which will conclude tomorrow in Princeton, N.J.
Wagner (4-8) challenged the Crimson (6-2), scoring at least three goals in every frame, but Harvard's offense triumphed with a season high 16 goals.
Aisha Price led the way, finding the back of the cage seven times in the opener. The junior opened the 2012 campaign with seven consecutive hat trick after her seven-goal performance.
Harvard held the lead throughout against the Seahawks, but by slim margins. The Crimson was up by one score at halftime, 7-6, and took a two-goal advantage, 11-9, into the final frame, before finishing off Wagner by a three-goal edge.
Devan Kennifer added four goals for the Crimson and Monica Zdrojewski dished out five assists. Ariel Dukes had five saves, a steal and an assists in the win.
In game two of the day, Jasmine Griffin came up with 11 saves and led Harvard to an easy 15-1 win over Villanova (0-8). It was the Crimson's third victory over the Wildcats by a combined 42-5 score. Harvard took a 9-0 lead into halftime before coasting to victory.

four goals.
Harvard will look to avenge one of its two losses this season when
it takes on Iona at 9 a.m. tomorrow to conclude the MAAC/East
Challenge. The Gaels edged Harvard, 15-14, in the Crimson's season
opener Feb. 4.
