LEWISBURG, Pa. – Devan Kennifer, Elise Molnar and Shannon Purcell each had goals for the Harvard women's water polo team Sunday, which fell, 12-3, to top-seeded No. 20 Princeton at the ECAC Championship hosted by Bucknell.
After getting edged by Iona Saturday night to fall into the third-place game, the Crimson (8-4, 1-0 CWPA) offense produced just its second single-digit goals output of the season in 12 games. The Tigers (5-2) jumped out to a 6-1 advantage after the first period. Harvard's defense stepped it up and held Princeton to one goal in the following frame, but the Crimson was outscored, 6-1, in the second half for the final score.
Harvard will take a week off before heading out on a week-long, seven-game road trip to California March 13-19 to take on some of the country's best teams.
