CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- Freshman Elise Molnar of the Harvard women's water polo team has been named the Collegiate Water Polo Association Northern Division Rookie of the Week. Molnar tallied nine goals in four games this past weekend at the Harvard Invitational.
The rookie recorded her first collegiate goal in her first game at the college level, a 16-2 Crimson victory over Villanova, Feb. 6. In her second collegiate contest, the Newport Beach, Calif. native exploded for five markers to spur Harvard to a 15-9 win over Siena. Molnar netted three goals on day two of the Harvard Invitational to help the Crimson pick up two more wins. The freshman center notched a goal against the New York Athletic Club and a pair of scores against Iona. After two days of action, Molnar currently sits in second on the team in goals scored with nine.
Molnar and the Crimson (4-0) will travel to Princeton, N.J. to compete in the Princeton Invitational where they will play four matches in two days.
