Harvard Helping to Raise Breast Cancer Awareness

The Harvard women's volleyball team did its part during the
month of October to help promote breast cancer awareness and raise
funds for breast cancer research.
On Friday, Oct. 30, the Crimson with the help of the Harvard
marketing department hosted Dig Pink. The Crimson warmed up in pink
Harvard volleyball t-shirts (as seen in photo above), while members
of the Harvard marketing department handed out ribbons,
t-shirts and informational sheets about breast cancer and collected
donations.
Earlier in the month, several Harvard student-athletes traveled
down to Foxboro to help out with the Susan G. Komen for the Cure
Foundation at the Oct. 4 Patriots game. In the Patriot plaza, a
booth was set up asking for donations in support of breast cancer,
as October is national breast cancer awareness month. Katherine
Kocurek and Christine Wu (seen in the picture) helped pass out pink
paraphernalia and raised $2,200. The project ran throughout the
entire NFL at all games over the weekend, which ultimately raised
over $22,000.
