Docter Tabbed Rookie of the Week: Wu Named to Honor Roll

Harvard freshman Taylor Docter was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week for her performance in the Crimson’s 2-1 showing at the Harvard Invitational last weekend, while sophomore Christine Wu earned a spot on the honor roll.

The Los Altos, Calif., native led the Crimson in kills in her first two collegiate matches and leads the team in kills after three contests. Docter posted 18 kills, three aces, two digs and a block in Harvard win against Colgate Friday night. She followed that up with 14 kills, an ace, eight digs and a block in Harvard’s win against Stony Brook. She had five kills, an ace, four digs and two blocks in a 3-1 loss to Toledo. She is tied with Mikaelle Comrie for the most kills on the team (37).

Wu was named to the Ivy League Honor Roll. She averaged 5.38 digs per set in the Harvard Invitational to earn all-tournament honors and help the Crimson to a 2-1 start. She led Harvard in digs in all three contests this weekend, posting 22 against Colgate, 23 against Stony Brook and 25 versus Toledo. She also registered seven aces, three coming in a four set win against Stony Brook. Wu also handed out four assists against the Raiders to open the season.

The Crimson hosts Connecticut Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Malkin Athletic Center.
