Harvard Women's Tennis Blanks Brown, 7-0

Hai-Li Kong won her 11th straight match Thursday night (OAC).

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Harvard women's tennis team cruised to its third straight win and fifth shutout of the season, blanking Brown, 7-0, Thursday night at the Pizzitola Center.

The Crimson (12-6, 4-2) made quick work of the Bears, winning five of the six singles matches in straight sets to earn their third straight conference win.

Harvard got off to a fast start by claiming the doubles point for the second straight match. Hai-Li Kong and Hannah Morrill topped Olivia Hsu and Sarah Kandath, 8-1, in the third position, and Sylvia Li and Kristin Norton topped Ammu Mandalap and Nikita Uberoi, 8-4, to secure the point.

In singles play, Amanda Lin continued her scintillating run, winning her 14th straight match with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Hsu, in the sixth position. Kristin Norton dropped just a single game in each of her sets to top Uberoi, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 3.

Amy He followed suit with a 6-4, 6-3 triumph against Hannah Camhi at No. 2. Sylvia Li edged Mandalap, 7-5, 6-4, in the fifth position, while Hai-Li Kong knocked off Kandath, 6-1, 7-6 (5) at No. 4 for her 11th straight victory.

Hideko Tachibana outlasted Misia Krasowski, 7-5, 3-6, 11-9, at No. 1 in the only match that went the full three sets.

Harvard wraps up the regular season against Dartmouth at 2 p.m. Saturday for Senior Day.
