Holly Cao Debuts at No. 46 in ITA Singles Rankings
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The preseason women’s tennis singles and doubles rankings were released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Friday. Harvard senior Holly Cao is ranked No. 46 in the preliminary poll.
Cao, a native of Sydney, Australia, enters her final year with a 61-16 career record individually, including a 16-5 mark against Ivy opponents. Last year, she finished with an impressive 22-3 record in singles play and was 6-1 in the Ivy League to lead the Crimson to No. 63 in the final ITA team rankings.
According to the ITA rankings, Cao begins the year as the No. 2 Ivy player behind No. 19 Connie Hsu of Penn.
The Crimson women open with the Harvard Fall Classic Sept. 16-18. Boston U., Long Island, Massachusetts, Middlebury and Temple will join the host Crimson at the Beren Tennis Center.
