No. 64 Holly Cao Selected as Alternate for NCAA Tournament

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Harvard's Holly Cao has been selected as one of eight alternates for the 2011 NCAA Singles Championship tournament held at Taube Tennis Center in Stanford, Calif., May 25-30.

Cao played to a 15-1 singles record in dual matches this season, falling only to Ivy League Player of the Year, Connie Hsu from Penn. She earned a 6-1 mark in Ancient Eight play, while going 22-3 in all singles matches dating back to the fall. Through her first three seasons with the Crimson, Cao is 61-16 in singles play with a 37-7 dual match record.

Earlier this spring Cao was a unanimous selection to the All-Ivy League first-team for the second straight season. 

The current 2011 NCAA Singles Championship tournament field of 64 consists of 15 automatic selections and 49 at-large bids. Cao, serving as the fourth alternate, will be selected to the tournament field if four of the original 64 is to withdraw.
