Women's Tennis Hosts the ECAC Indoor Championship This Weekend

ECAC Tournament
Harvard hosts the ECAC Indoor Championships, Feb. 12-14, at the
Murr Center Tennis Courts. Eight teams will play in a the three-day
tournament. Yale clinched the 2009 title after knocking off
Princeton in the finals.

Five of the teams competing this weekend are ranked by the ITA.
Yale is No. 44, followed by Princeton at No. 47, Brown at No. 63,
Harvard at No. 64 and Boston University at No. 69.
Scouting the Field
The Terriers of Boston University hold a 1-5 record coming into
this weekend’s tournament. The team picked up a 5-2 victory
over St. John’s for its lone win of the spring.
Brown boasts a 4-1 record entering the ECAC Championship. The lone
loss came at the hands of No. 5 Baylor at the ITA Kickoff
Weekend.
Entering this weekend, Columbia stands at 2-1 on the season,
having defeated Stony Brook and Fairleigh Dickson.
Cornell split its two matches of the spring, falling to Buffalo
before downing Colgate, 5-2.
Sporting an undefeated record, Dartmouth is 5-0 coming into this
weekend. The Big Green most recently defeated St. John’s,
6-1, in Hanover, N.H.
The Crimson holds a 3-1 record entering this weekend.
Harvard’s loss came against No. 5 Baylor at the ITA Kickoff
Weekend.
In dual play, Harvard sports undefeated records in No. 1, 2 and 5
singles, while the other positions have dropped just one match
each.
Princeton sits at 3-1 on the season, with the loss coming to
Northwestern in the finals of the ITA Kickoff Weekend.
As the defending ECAC Champions, the Bulldogs hold a 5-1 record
entering this weekends tournament. Yale has picked up wins over
Boston College, Boston University, Wake Forest, and
Massachusetts.
Next Time Out
Following the ECAC Championship, the Crimson travels to the
midwest to face Purdue and Illinois, Feb. 27 and 28, respectively.
