No. 1 Women’s Squash Breeze Past No. 6 Cornell to Remain Undefeated

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The top-ranked Harvard women's squash defeated No. 6 Cornell, 8-1, on Saturday to remain unbeaten in Ivy League action. The Crimson improves to 8-0 overall and 4-0 in Ivy League play.

Amanda Sobhy knocked off Danielle Letourneau, 11-9, 11-3, 11-1 in the top spot to remain unbeaten in the No. 1 position for the Crimson. Haley Mendez and Katie Tutrone each swept their opponents by a 3-0 mark in the second and third positions respectively.

Saumya Karki and Michelle Gemmell posted a 3-1 mark in the fourth and fifth position, while Julianne Chu swept Rahcel Au, 11-5, 12-10, 11-4 in the sixth spot.

Dileas MacGowan won her eight match of the season in the seventh position as she bested Reut Odinak, 11-9, 11-7, 9-11, 11-4. Isabelle Dowling dropped her first match of the year as Olivia Wherry notched Cornell's only victory of the day. Dowling is now 7-1 on the year.

Megan Murray took her match in three sets defeated Laura Caty, 11-4, 11-7, 11-2 in the ninth spot.

Harvard is back in action tomorrow at Columbia as the Crimson looks to remain undefeated in Ivy play.
