CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – With a dominant 9-0 sweep of No. 8 Dartmouth Friday, the top-ranked Harvard women's squash team advanced to the College Squash Association (CSA) Howe Cup semifinal tomorrow. The Crimson will take on No. 5 Trinity Saturday at 1:30 p.m. with the winner moving to the Howe Cup championship match Sunday at the Murr Center.

The Crimson, which beat Dartmouth, 8-1, earlier this season, took little time to secure the match. Harvard won the first six contests to clinch the victory in just over an hour and finished the sweep in the last three matches. All nine Crimson starters won by 3-0 tallies.

Sarah Mumanachit defeated Kate Nimmo, the only Big Green player to win a match the last time the two teams met, at No. 7 (3-0: 11-5, 11-6, 11-3). The junior is now 12-0 this season, including 7-0 in the No. 7 spot.

Amanda Sobhy also continued her undefeated season with a nearly flawless 3-0 win over Corey Schafer of Dartmouth in the No. 1 position. Sobhy, who dropped just four points in the match, is 8-0 with all of her wins coming in the top spot after the New Year.

Tomorrow's match against No. 5 Trinity, which upset No. 4 Penn, 6-3, is slated to start at 1:30 p.m. with the winner advancing to the championship 1 p.m. Sunday at the Murr Center. Earlier this season, Harvard took down Trinity, 8-1, in Hartford Jan. 21.

In other quarterfinal action, No. 2 Yale swept No. 7 Cornell, 9-0, and No. 3 Princeton eased past No. 6 Stanford, 8-1. The Bulldogs and Tigers meet at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow.
