No. 1 Women’s Squash Sweeps Past Columbia

NEW YORK – Eight Crimson players competed at No. 14 Columbia, each earning victories, including seven with 3-0 sweeps, as No. 1 Harvard women's squash rolled past the Lions.

The Crimson dominated the top three spots, as Amanda Sobhy, Laura Gemmell and Nirasha Guruge all won by 3-0 tallies. Sobhy had the easiest road to victory, topping Kate Calihan, 11-1, 11-3, 11-3.

Haley Mendez became the first Harvard player to register double digit victories with a 3-1 win over Katie Quan. Mendez advanced to 10-1 this season.

Sarah Mumanachit continued her undefeated season with an easy victory over Annie Tickell, 11-2, 11-2, 11-6. Mumanachit has the most wins of any undefeated Crimson at 9-0, ahead of Gemmell (7-0), Sobhy (5-0) and Megan Murray (6-0).

Harvard continues Ivy League play with No. 7 Cornell Sunday at noon in Ithaca, N.Y.
