CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Sophomore Laura Gemmell earned her second straight Ivy League Player of the Year honor, as the League office announced the year-end award and All-Ivy League team Thursday.
Gemmell, who was also selected to the All-Ivy League team, recorded a 16-1 record as Harvard’s No. 1 this season. Her lone loss came at the CSA Individual National Championship, falling to Ivy Rookie of the Year, Camilla Tomlinson from Yale. It was the first loss in Gemmell’s collegiate career, she stands at 32-1 in her firs two years with the Crimson.
Led by Gemmell, the Crimson, who was the top-ranked women’s team in the nation for the majority of the season, suffered only two losses all season, both to Yale by scores of 5-4.
