No. 2 Women's Squash Advances to CSA Finals with 6-3 Win Over No. 3 Trinity

PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 2 Harvard women's squash team defeated No. 3 Trinty in the semifinals of the CSA National Team Championship, 6-3. The Crimson will advance to the finals on Sunday where it will face the winner of the No. 1 Yale-No. 5 Princeton match.

Using the three-court system, Harvard jumped out to an early 2-1 lead. Senior Alisha Mashruwala swept Trinity's Jennifer Pelletier in the No. 3 match and Cece Cortes took a five-set decision from Alicia Rodriguez-Acosta in the No. 6 match.

The Crimson improved its lead to 4-2 as the next trio of matches concluded. Natasha Kingshott recovered from losing the first two sets of the No. 5 match, to run through the final three sets against Emery Holten, 9-11, 8-11, 11-5, 11-2, 11-3. Bethan Williams added another sweep for the Crimson, taking down Andrea Echeverria in the No. 8 match.

Harvard tacked on two more wins in the final set of matches. Laura Gemmell took down Catalina Palaez in the No. 1 match, while Sarah Mumanchit took care of Robyn Hodgson, 11-7, 11-6, 11-7.

The Crimson will take on the winner of the Yale-Princeton match, tomorrow at 1:30 p.m., in the championship match. The Crimson defeated Princeton, 7-2, Feb. 6, but lost a heartbreaker in the regular-season finale to Yale, 5-4, Feb. 12.
